Reunion VII on Saturday, May 24, 2008, for former students, staff, and faculty of University High School (UHS), Columbia, SC, was a great success!!

     Approximately 240 people attended the reunion.  Included among the guests were Coach Cy, Mrs. Evelyn Harvey, and Miss Timmons.

     The Reunion Committee is already looking forward to planning Reunion VIII--tentatively scheduled to be held during May in 2011--so, mark your calendar!

          OF INTEREST:  Principal C.B. Harvey's name was added to the college scholarship fund that Mr. Harvey, with the aid of former students, established to provide annual grants to USC students preparing to teach on the high school level. 

     During the 2007-2008 school year, $1,500 scholarships were awarded to two students who are mathematics majors pursuing master's degrees at the College of Education.  

     The scholarship fund is heading toward the $100,000.00 mark, thanks in part to a $20,000 dollar-for-dollar matching gift from a UHS graduate  challenging friends, students, and staff of UHS to contribute.
